Alysha Menakaya is a recent graduate of USC's MFA program in Film & TV Production, class of 2020. Her focus is writing and directing for comedy.

From Manchester, NH Alysha proudly represents her unique identity as a first-generation queer bi-racial filmmaker of Nigerian descent. After attending Simmons University, an all-womxn's institution, she moved to LA to pursue her filmmaking dreams. Since then, she's worked for Lena Waithe, Amazon Studios, HBO, Partizan Productions, MACRO and Film Independent. Her recent accolades include: 1st place at the Jack Oakie Comedy Film Festival in 2018 for Finding Negro, and the Audience Award at the ABFF Comedy Festival in 2021 for Club Beige.

Alysha’s mission to raise awareness about racism in America through the lens of comedy. Alysha aspires to own her own production company that spotlights diverse storytellers, and creates a safe work environment for womxn and nonbinary artists in film.
