Desperate for a breakthrough as she nears the big 4-0, struggling New York City playwright Radha finds inspiration by reinventing herself as a rapper.


Radha Blank is a playwright, director, producer, and actress born and raised in New York City. Her plays include HappyFlowerNail, Casket Sharp, nannyland and SEED. Blank produced two seasons of the Netflix series She’s Gotta Have It, an adaptation of Spike Lee’s 1989 film, and she also wrote for the popular TV series Empire and The Get Down. In 2020, Radha Blank won the directing award at Sundance for her semi-autobiographical feature film The 40-Year-Old Version, which premiered on Netflix.
