Shiona Turini is a consultant, stylist, and costume designer. In her decade-long career, Turini has solidified herself as one of the industry's leading experts, both behind and in front of the camera, and has been commended for her work product and personal style. After years in fashion editorial, she launched a freelance career focusing on editorial and commercial styling, music videos and red carpet. She collaborated with Solange Knowles on her stunning visual projects, ‘Don’t Touch My Hair’ and ‘Cranes in the Sky’ and also served as a stylist on Beyoncé’s ‘Formation’ music video. Alongside, she served as a contributing editor for New York Magazine's The Cut while also consulting and styling for brands such as Bermuda Tourism Authority, Stuart Weitzman, Christian Dior and Elle.com.
As a costume designer, Turini wardrobed seasons 3 of HBO's popular 'Insecure'—created by Issa Rae (her work can be seen in episodes 1 and 3-8), the pilot for FX’s “Y” based on the graphic novel “Y The Last Man,” and most recently ‘Insecure’ Season 4. Costume designing her first feature film, Universal Pictures “Queen & Slim,” earned Turini a Costume Designers Guild Award nomination in the Contemporary Costumes category. She is an active member of both New York's United Scenic Artists (Local 829) and Los Angeles' Costume Designer's Guild (Local 892).
